An update from OBR, Martin Keruzore: The Indian Ocean is ready to welcome us.

We watch him, concentrating on the screen and scratching his head. It’s happening, the Indian Ocean is waking up and it will welcome us the way it should do.

The Great South is supposed to be all about albatrosses, depressions and wild waves but, so far, it feels more like summer. The thermal underlayers remain dry in the bag and the neoprene hoods are not needed.

Is it global warming, is the great depression on strike or should we be ware? It is probably the calm before the storm and when you see Pascal at the navigation station, you know that something is on the horizon.

We watch him, concentrating on the screen and scratching his head. It’s happening, the Indian Ocean is waking up and it will welcome us the way it should do. In a few hours we are going to catch up with a beautiful depression and our cruising days will be over.
