Dongfeng Race Team is a professional offshore racing team, made up of international and Chinese sailors competing in the Volvo Ocean Race 2017-18.
The team is back for more after securing third place in the 2014-15 edition of the race, surprising sailing fans and capturing hearts around the world in the process. This time round they intend to compete at the highest level and are focussed on sailing to the best of their ability to challenge for overall race victory.
Some might say the pressure is on, but Dongfeng Race Team know this race is about much more than just winning a trophy. The team remains committed to it’s long-term sporting mission that puts the future interests of Chinese offshore sailing at the core of the project. With three Chinese sailors on board who have already completed one lap of the planet, and with the campaign backed by Chinese sponsor, Dongfeng Motor Corporation, the momentum to create a legacy for offshore sailing in China continues.
