She’s back!

Dongfeng Race Team’s upgraded Volvo Ocean 65 returned to the water today, in Lisbon, with The Boatyard guiding their prized handiwork from the cradle to the dock.

Accompanied by cheers from the Dongfeng shore team, it was a proud moment for everyone at Doca de Pedrouços, as they viewed this spectacular boat that is once again in mint condition and ready to race around the world in the Volvo Ocean Race 2017-18.

‘It feels good to have the boat back in the water again and the team is raring to go. It is now up to our shore team, along with The Boatyard staff, to carry out some fine-tuning and test out the new systems onboard our racing machine,’ said Dongfeng boat captain Graham Tourell.

After an inspiring turnaround by The Boatyard, it is now down to the final commissioning and testing process before the boat is officially handed back to the team. The team will now prepare the boat to race in what promises to be one of the most gruelling and exciting editions of the Volvo Ocean Race to date!
